Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten 2010-2011

Welcome to a new school year in the Laubenthal Ladybug Pre-K classroom. This year will be filled with many opportunities for the children to explore the mysteries of nature. They will also explore the properties of matter and force and motion. Of course, learning how to communicate orally and in writing will develop over time. When the children realize that they know the letters of the alphabet in their name and can "read" the names of their friends always sends chills up my body. This year will be filled with milestones: learning the names and sounds of the letters in the alphabet, leaning to rote count to 30 and count objects up to 10, learning to classify, sort, make simple patterns, compare, and predict.
